The word “therapy” can conjure up a lot of misinformation and stereotypes. Psychotherapy is a treatment process based on the collaborative relationship between an individual and a psychologist. The psychologist, or therapist, provides a safe, supportive environment where you can talk openly without fear of judgement.
You won’t be lying on a couch like in the movies. Instead, you’ll meet in a comfortable office with a therapist who cares about you and your individual progress. Most therapy is one-on-one, although some therapists do work with couples, families, and groups
Individual therapy, sometimes called psychotherapy or individual counseling, is a collaborative process that facilitates positive change and helps people lead happier, more fulfilling lives. Therapy can help you to work through issues that have been bothering you and keeping you from emotional well being and health. I provide an open and non-judgmental environment where you are free to be yourself and speak openly.
One of my goals in therapy is to help you explore problems so that we can find ways to overcome them together. I will help you learn coping skills that can help you be happier and feel more connected in your relationships. Individual therapy is effective with adults, teens, and children for a wide variety of issues. Please contact me today to see how I can help you achieve your goals.
